> Lancaster County WoodCarvers has scheduled a Beginner Carve class with the Lancaster County Parks Department for Saturday, October 20, 2012. The class will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm with a break for lunch at the Shuts Environmental Library in Lancaster County Central Park. A carving knife will be available for your use (you can purchase the knife if you wish). Everyone will be required to use a cut proof glove. One may bring one along or purchase a cut proof glove for under $10. Wood and patterns will be free to all students. One must be at least 14 years old to participate. Adults are encouraged to sign up as well. If you have your own tools, bring them. It is suggested that you bring a lunch with you since eateries are too far away for the short lunch break.

>

> Lancaster County WoodCarvers’ club members will be doing the instruction, but the Lancaster County Park Department is handling the required, limited registration and providing the place, the Shuts Environmental Library in Lancaster County Central Park.

>

> Please check the Parks Departments schedule for info on registering on their Wanderings Events Calendar, http://www.co.lancaster.pa.us/parks/ical/calendar.asp. It may not be listed yet, but keep checking.
