I use table and chair leg boots for the tips of my sticks. The biggest I have found is about 1.5 inches diameter. For the other type of tip your asking about I have seen it in the "Treeline" Catalog ( www.treelindusa.com ).

Subject: [Woodcarver] Walking stick information needed
Good evening all!
I have a question concerning walking sticks and canes. I am making one for a friend and need to put something on the bottom for walking stability. Unfortunately the stick is wider at the bottom (1 3/4") then narrows up. I think I remember someone saying there was a type that could be used for outside with a point and then covered up for walking inside. Does anyone remember this? Of what do you recommend for the ends to make them easier to walk with? Thank you for you information!
Merrilee
