Peg, I would recommend a ram, or similar machine. I have used my Ram for over c 10 years. They are not used for heavy wood removal but rather for typical carving.

Hi Woodcarvers,
I'm considering purchasing a mini grinder and I thought this group might have some suggestions. I've used a full size grinder for several different chores. It gets heavier every time I use it.
It has occurred to me that there are smaller hand held grinders, but I only know them by their advertisements. To my knowledge there are three companies that make the tool. They are Arbortech, King Arthur and Proxxon. There may be others. What can you tell me?
