Fantastic day and conditions on both North and South Aspect this day.

Cool temps this morning with broken skies and little wind, clearing to a windless sunny day with a high of +6. Great preserved powder (up to boot top) on North aspects there. Lots of un-skied terrain on both Cirque and Observation Sub peak. On Observation Sub pk. we skied off the summit (2950) down the North glacier and passed it into the moderate angled couloir that leads to Dolomite creek and stopped at about 2300 Meters before it steepens. Snow in the couloir is wind affected but still skiable with a great ambiance. We then skied back to the summit and boot packed down the South ridge to access the South shoulder slopes and skied this back to the highway. My guests and I were surprised at how good the snow was on this solar aspect, great spring skiing conditions and snow getting moister only below about 2400 Meters and then not too heavy either.

Ascending any steeper solar aspects below treeline in this area would probably require ski crampons now. No new avalanches or other instabilities noted. Bow summit looks like the ski hill.
