Sam Mangano wrote in the last Digest:
"Robert Randolph opened (for the Black Crowes) and also played a hot set.
If you liked his stuff from 2004, you should hear some of his new songs
coming out on his September release! Very upbeat, rock-funk tunes! check em
out if they come your way."
Sam probably knows this already.... Read in a Chicago Sun-Times article
last weekend that EC and Robert recorded a cover of the Doobie Brothers
classic "Jesus is Just Alright" for Robert's new album
"Colorblind." Dave Matthews (and his entire band) and soul singer Leela
James also appear. Randolph describes the album as "Hendrix meets Robert
Randolph meets Sly meets Outkast. We wanted to give it a little swing and
a little edge. "
