Here from the Geetarz archives, the only known footage of Derek and the
Dominos, live on the Johnny Cash TV show at Nashville's Ryman
Auditorium, 5 November 1970. Assembled from the best known sources for
the available bits, including a missing / nonbroadcast interview segment.
Check out the impressive pompadour and giant lapels on Johnny Cash ...
but it's Carl Perkins' toupee that receives star billing! Your ordinary,
run-of-the-mill bad rug may look like a small dead animal perched
precariously on the wearer's head, this but thing is more like something
that could possibly have escaped from Area 51!

Perceptive observers may note the amazingly rare appearance of a
Micro-Frets model guitar wielded by Perkins ... made in Maryland, only
several hundred of these were made and they've become desirable (if a
bit oddball) collector's items. Clapton's "Brownie" is of course now in
the hands of Microsoft's Paul Allen.
The whereabouts of Johnny Cash's lapels is still unknown ...
Cheers,
AG
