[Slowhand] Derek and Duane

  Hi, not going to enter into this silly debate.  However, both Tom Dowd and Jerry Wexler have commented in print on Duane's playing.  They were both extremely impressed with his mastery of the guitar.  He could play fluently in a number of idioms including bossa nova, bebop and of course r&b, blues and rock.  Check out Herbie Mann's Memphis Underground sometime if you want to hear Duane tear it up in a completely different style that what you might be familiar with.  Duane was a monster.  RN
