Try looking at www.carverscompanion.com in there resource files you
will find links to some carving suppliers. Also, there are a few people
on this list that have or offer carving supplies and blanks/wood.

Hi all

I just started in this great world of woodcarving.

I am an IT professional that was looking for a hobby that I could do
with my hand...

Anyway, I have a question, where would be a good place to buy wood for
practicing? I live in MD

Does anyone know if I can Home depot or any other store like that would
have it?

As you can see I am still pretty ignorant about this matter.

Also does anyone have a list of wood that are good for woodcarving? I
would like to find a classification of woods, etc

Well thanks in advance to everyone and please, excuse my ignorance.

Rezuma
