[Woodcarver] wood question

My dad is traveling to india and nepal, leaving in a few days.  he asked if i 
knew what kind of carving woods are native to india or nepal so that maybe he 
might ship me back a piece or two.  If he doesn't get in trouble with customs 
or anything.   Do any one of you more experienced carvers have any ideas for 
me?  I'd appreciate it.  Thanks
