Hi Jean,

I wasn't the person posting about the Dremel, but here is a link to Dremel's
page for accessories: http://www.dremel.com/html/home_fr.html

They offer both a plunge router and regular router attachment, as well as a
router table setup. With a bit shank size of 1/8" max, this is a pretty
lightweight bit for anything bigger than light cuts. I have no doubt that a
clean, sharp bit will cut walnut, basswood, fingers, whatever gets in the way!
Please be careful with these things! They can be dangerous, in spite of being
fairly small.

I don't know that the bits are anything but HSS, rather than carbide, but they
will work for a while before getting dull and needing replacement.

A better suggestion might be to swap a carving for a woodworker who can do your
routing with a full size router? Safer for you and easy enough for them with
the right tools.
