Hi Lloyd;
Nice start, for the propeller I would just mount a thin wooden disc/disk 
with concentric circles decreasing in size engraved into it with a "v" tool 
, just like the image a propeller gives when it's whirling around, both 
sides now Lloyd EH.(G)
For the fishing line I would again create an image of a line being dragged 
through the water, by gluing a line taut from the pilot down into a "v" 
tool groove in the base as if it was being dragged along , the groove 
extends back of the plane and stops at the point where the line is glued 
in, you could leave a bit the wood that is removed by the "v" tool , curled 
up at the point where the line is in the water, kind of like a small bow 
wave.(G)
