Hi Loren,

Thanks for the note. I'm going to pass it along to our group. It's
testimonials like this that have an impact. I want them to be educated
on this subject. I don't want to frighten them away from wood carving
but understand what precautions "should" be untaken so to preserve
their health and enjoy the world of woodcarving.

At this point we have new members that are having so much fun they
don't know their is a danger. If they can't see it or smell it, all is
well. Breathing fumes from a woodburner can give me bronchitis,
whereas someone else might not have that sensitivity.

My main thrust is education without creating fear.

John Griscti sent 3 more articles on wood "dust" that I will make
copies and pass out to them. Thank you so much John.

If anyone knows of something more I can use, please let me know. I
appreciate all of your help.

I have a bunch of power carving equipment. A lot of it came from a
fellow
that did power carving for many years. He started out not using a dust
collector religiously and now his lungs are ruined to the tune of
having to
purge them a couple of times a day with oxygen. He can no longer power
carve at all, even using dust protection and masks.

At any rate, it is the fine dust that does the damage. It the dust is
easily visible it probably won't do the damage that the fine dust will
do.

Hope all goes well with your new club.
