[Woodcarver] heat transferred patterns

I make my chip carving patterns on my computer and print them out. Since I do plaques with lettering I did not want to go through the trouble of getting a mirror image to transfer. I glue the pattern to the wood with a re-positional spray adhesive. I carve through the paper and when I am finished the waste paper peels off very easily. Any remaining glue comes off with rubbing alcohol. Another idea is to spray a light coat of sealer on the wood before you apply the transfer. This may prevent the ink from soaking into the wood fibers and any remaining ink should be easily removed with rubbing alcohol.
God Bless,

I'd like to hear some feedback on the use of heat transferred patterns.
I am primarily a chip carver & find this to be a quick, easy & accurate
method of getting my pattern onto a plate, box, board, or whatever.
However, I have just about quit using it.............the problem comes
after carving, when there are remnants of the pattern that are not
completely carved off.............I've found nothing (& I've tried many
many different cleaners, bleaches & solvents) that will remove the
transferred toner short of sandpaper, which is the last thing one wants
to use on a completed chip carving. Thanx !!! Vance in NC
