Unless I draw it myself I always use rubber cement on the back of the paper
(pattern) and adhere it to the wood. Sometimes when I even draw it myself I
do it on paper and glue it on the wood. The paper will peel off the wood
when you are finished carving.

I'd like to hear some feedback on the use of heat transferred patterns.
I am primarily a chip carver & find this to be a quick, easy & accurate
method of getting my pattern onto a plate, box, board, or whatever.
However, I have just about quit using it.............the problem comes
after carving, when there are remnants of the pattern that are not
completely carved off.............I've found nothing (& I've tried many
many different cleaners, bleaches & solvents) that will remove the
transferred toner short of sandpaper, which is the last thing one wants
to use on a completed chip carving. Thanx !!! Vance in NC
