I cut my own blanks, too.  I use a square on the wood to make sure the side 
and front patterns are lined up correctly.  I cut the front out completely 
then use hot glue to glue the pieces back on.  Then I can cut out the side 
views.  I have found that for me a small amount of hot glue works best.
