Hi, Maura,

Here in Maine carving is going as strong as ever. Last weekend I was
fortunate to have been one of 7 carvers selected to demonstrate in
the Traditional Arts section of the American Folk Festival, held in
Bangor every year. With over 162,000 people at this FREE event...and
5 stages of world music going for 2 1/2 days, we were able to expose
lots of people to the different types and traditions of carving. It
was a wonderful experience for me.
Our local carving club is going strong. We have weekly meetings and
continued to meet through the summer. This week several of our group
is demonstrating at the local Windsor Country Fair, Maine Wood
Carvers Assoc. big annual Downeast Show is coming up the end of
September ( http://www.mainewoodcarvers.org )
As for me, I'm up to my eyeballs trying to meet deadlines. Some say
I wouldn't have it any other way. A little less pressure might be
nice, though :)
