There's several reasons,
1. IE is bundled and necessary with MS operating systems. (There's been a lot of litigation about this in non US markets)
2. Web developers spend a lot of extra time making their web sites work with IE.
3. Many people won't go to the trouble of downloading and using another browser.
4. Even then there's 270 million using FoxFire.
Now I'll ask another question.
If IE is so good why is there FoxFire, Chrome, and Safari?
