[Woodcarver] Fwd: cedar info.

I have carved quite a bit of Cedar. I love the look and the smell, but it
is not a good carving wood. It tends to chip and splinter easily and,
therefore, you cannot get as fine detail as you can with Bass. It also has
the typical hard/soft grain areas which can cause you grief.

I am not familiar with the cost versus Basswood. I have purchased a bit of
Cedar, but never compared the cost. You should be able to get current
pricing off the internet and see what you think.
